Changing Our Name
Posted in News June 20th, 2008 by Aegis Integer

Well, after several months of talking about it, we’ve finally decided to change our name. Too often, people have difficulty understanding the band name “Aegis Integer,” and we’ve decided we need something a bit more accessible–something that intrigues people more than puts them off. The definition of ‘Aegis Integer’ isn’t even clear to all of the band members, so we know something needs to change!

We’ve been spending days brainstorming on new name ideas and currently have a poll on our Myspace page for three names we’ve narrowed it down to:

Della Terra
Tomorrow’s Earth
Cimarron Ash

We’ll keep you posted as things develop. . .

Don’t Pass Go
Posted in News June 16th, 2008 by Aegis Integer

We’d like to say thank you to everyone who has come out to see us particiate in the Emergenza Music Festival. We’ve met a lot of great bands and had a lot of fun playing the shows. However, our season is over for now. We played in the finals for the city of San Francisco but were not selected to move forward. There was only one band chosen to move forward out of the 12 that were participating.

The whole Emergenza thing come upon us quite suddenly. We had just finished recording ‘Sand Timer’ and played one warm up show when we got the invitation to play with a one week notice! For the first round we quickly put together a set, practiced intensely for a week and went for it. The subsequent rounds went well because we had more time to prepare. And then the finals. There were probably 300+ people there when we played so we got some great exposure and a very enthusiastic crowd response. Not bad considering this was only our 5th live performance. We were focused and ready to go. Our timing was tight, our vocal harmonies were right on and the sound in the Great American Music Hall was killer! Even though we didn’t move on we are extremely happy with our progress in such a short time.

Now it’s time to refocus our energies. We’ll be planning our next step in the coming weeks. Stay tuned and we’ll have an update soon.

Thank you, thank you! We are very grateful to all of our San Francisco Bay area fans that came out to the show and voted for us last night. We thought we’d have a tough time drawing a crowd on a Thursday but we were wrong. This was our biggest crowd yet! Beautiful.

The show was hot! Literally. Yesterday was one of the hottest days on record in this area and it was sweltering on stage but we live on to tell the tale. Most everything went off without a hitch. Danny had his technical issues with the first round show but, this time it was David’s turn. First off, he was playing with a badly sprained ankle! Not fun when it’s your bass drum foot! On top of that, Dave’s headset mic battery crapped out on us. A little embarrassing but easily dealt with. The Emergenza rep ruled with an iron grip, and every band was right on time. We were happy about that because we wound up in the 10:30pm time slot.

Set list:

Temporary
We Are Lost, Part 1
We Are Lost, Part 6
Mirrors and Hallways
Tapestry

The other bands were really good this time around as well. You can go to the Emergenza website and find more info on the whole thing.

For now it’s back to work. We’re going to work out our set list for the finals on June 15th at the Great American Music Hall (http://www.musichallsf.com/) and keep working on our new material. There’s always new material! We should have some new photos and possibly some video up soon as well.

Thank you all again for your support. We look forward to seeing you at the Great American in June!

New Music from the Forthcoming Album!
Posted in News April 7th, 2008 by Aegis Integer

Well, we finally have some new music up from our DEMO–the pre-production for our next album, Patterns, due out Summer 2008. Click the “play” button on the music player at the very bottom of the page to listen. Or, check out the tracks on our Myspace page by clicking on “Myspace Forum” in the left hand frame, above the hummingbird.

You can also click here: Aegis Integer on Myspace

We’re pretty excited about this new material and hope you will be too.

In the near future, we will be burning copies of these DEMO CD’s to pass out around local SF Bay Area music stores, so if you’re in the area, you may soon find us on the shelves. If you have a local, independent music store near you that may be interested in our music, let us know and we’d be happy to send them some discs.

Stay tuned for news about our preparations for the upcoming May 15th San Francisco Semi-Finals round of the Emergenza International Music Festival. . .

On to the next round!!!
Posted in News March 18th, 2008 by Aegis Integer

Wow! What a show! This past Saturday night we played round 2 of the Emergenza festival. Once again, it was at the Rockit Room in San Francisco. The crowd was much bigger this time. We had more time to promote than last time so things worked out really well. This time there were seven bands. There was an interesting representation of genres as well. Everything from straight ahead guitar rock and nu-metal to 311-stylee. All of the bands were pretty tight sounding so it really was up to the fans to decide who moved on. It turned out that we had the most votes for an original band! We’re extremely happy about that! Now the pressure is on for round 3, the semi-finals. We are going to rally the troops for this one! There is a possibility of a party bus heading down from the North Bay to SF! We’d also like to have a before party some where near the club. These are all posibilities but we’ll have more solid information in the coming weeks. Suggestions are totally welcomed! So for now, the show is not until mid May so we’ll have a chance to keep working on the new CD as well as trying to squeeze in a couple of other live shows.

We’d been practicing almost everyday so for us, the show went really smoothly. Here is the setlist:

1.We Are Lost, Part 6
2. Mirrors and Hallways
3. We Are Lost, Part 3
4. Tapestry

I know, we played We Are Lost out of order. The song is not quite finished yet so we are just taking the different parts as individual songs. It’s going to be awesome whan it’s finished! We’re hoping to introduce another part of it during the next Emergenza show.
